1. Thaddeus heads toward the strange and distant Eastlands in an attempt to regain his Sorcerous powers, yet he has declared he is essentially indifferent to achieving this goal, and Marsia says it makes no difference to her either. What might some of his actual motivations include?
2. The Lady appears to be directly intervening in Thaddeus’ travail. She has previously not been known to do this. Why would she choose this moment to manifest her power?
3. The Ancient One asks Thaddeus a question upon which his life seems to depend. What could his purpose in doing so be? Was Thaddeus’ reply consistent with what he know of his innermost objectives?
4. Thaddeus learns that the Westlands Emperor invaded Cin in order to gain their wealth and property but suffered a terrible fate as a result. Was that fate justified? Are Thaddeus’ loyalties likely to be conflicted as a result of this knowledge?
5. Prince Zoarr decides to travel openly across country with his partner to return to his distant home. What risk does he take on himself and Molly? Is it justified, given how closely he has previously been guarded?
6. Tai-Pown reveals to Thaddeus the falsity of the Mystics’ practices. Is this more likely to cause him to doubt the beliefs fostered in him by his new Master?
7. Thaddeus is told placing a smuggler’s cave in a valley of giants is a useful strategy. Is this so? What gain justifies this risk?
8. Tai-Pown suggests several advantages in totally eliminating an entire race of enemies. Does his idea call for moral consideration? Why or why not?

9. Silvestrus’ decision to spare Perditus has allowed him to communicate with his Daemon Master to plot the downfall of the College. Should the Sorcerer have reconsidered his choice of mercy?
10. Thaddeus learns the Cin allow no female practitioners of their Art due to their concern for their safety. Is that an issue best left to the Ancient Ones alone?
